2000 Yamaha Yz80 Help!!!!
Hey everyone i just recently traded my 89'drag bike for a 2000 Yamaha Yz80. This bike may be 10 years old but it seriously is like brand new. Well the suspension is waaay to soft. I stiffened up the rear shock for my weight, and i messed with the rebound screws on the top and bottom of the front forks, but the forks are just way to soft! Does anyone know how to stiffen the front forks????????? They are Inverted forks to! Idk if there’s any oil issues though, the kid that had it before me never did anything to it, it's all stock!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! ![]() ![]()

Springs and valving. Springs will help. But if you are overly agressive or a little big for the bike you will blow right thru the valving. I had that problem with my sons YZ85. He was a little heavy for the bike. And even with heaver springs he was blowing thru the valving. I revalved it myself. Not to hard to do but not something most should attempt if your not comfortable with that kinda stuff.
I might start by getting the oil changed in the forks and shock so you have a baseline to start from. Im betting its never been done before. I would recomend you greasing the shock linkage, swingarm, rear brake pivot, and steering bearings right now. Change the brake fluid and coolant. Give the bike a good going over so you know where you are starting.
